Yes, I raised the Transom to 25" and I raised the deck 3"
As for the innerliner yes, I took a skill saw and ripped it out 4" below the top deck all the way around. I had to add to where the original rod lockers were and I built in 2 thwartship bulkeads that run through the entire middle of the boat and come up to the deck cap on each side. (see midships where the inspection plates are, just aft of the hawse pipes?) I also have other bulkeads under the deck that can bee seen in the series where the original boat only had 4 stringers and then relied on the deck/innerliner to tie it together. No, I did not lose any stiffness. |

I'm lovin the pix of the stern interior -
CSN and I have a seperate discussion ongoing about mods to the rear end of the 20' seafari - I would love to see more detailed pix of the inside stern of yours - looks like you had the same outboard notch size as mine, and your design could be directly applicable to mine. thanks Bill |

Bill-
yes, the sterns of the 20's are the same, I thinkk 90% sure, so my mod would work fine on your boat. Check out the post of the restore in the photos section that was just added by riffraff. He did another nice mod. |

Trayder,
Very nice work on the boat. Can you give some detail on cruising speed, wide open speed and fuel burn at those speeds. I'm thinking of getting the same motor for my project when complete. From the little that I have researched, that motor seems to be very affordable for a good 4 stroker. Thanks -will |

Speaking of stretched, and widened Seacrafts....what ever happened to that guy in Connecticut that split a 23 down the middle and was widenening it to 8'6" and stretching it to 25'???? Last I recall, it was a 5 year project....but have not heard anything in the last couple of years.

Will-
In MPH the boat cruises in the high twenties to low thirties and I have hit 45 messing about with light load short chop. There are a ton of 20's that have been repowered with the Suzuki 140 4stroke and everyone I have talked with that has done this re-power is thrilled. My boat is a bit of an oddball on weight, since I replaced everything with Nida-Core the hull is increadibly light. I have been able to put it up on (2) Saw Horses without the engine... That would be quite a project to extend the length of a Seacraft from 23’3” to 26’. That would make one COOL Seacraft. To do that from scratch would be testing my abilities beyond the max. Maybe I could borrow Capt Chuck’s boat for a few weeks and if someone would lend me their chain saw WELL MAYBE?????? What do you guys think.
