I have a single axle Fast Load - made in Plant city up here - Owens and Son are also good. I don't think you need dual, I have worn a set tires out traveling around with no problems

As for the bottom. A cost effective way to make it look good is to sand/clean up the existing coats then repaint with white anti-fouling paint. The white works great on trailer boats. Because it is white you don't notice it as much. Then as time and budget allow go the soda blast, repaint smooth route.

That's the route I think I'm heading.
Going to borrow a powerful pressure cleaner to knock off as much as possible the do the manual thing that I'm so looking forward to in the 95 degree weather down here |

Did some researh and found a product called Marine safty Strip sold at West Marine.
http://www.dumondchemicals.com/html/...ons.htm#marine Says that it will take off bottom paint down to the gel coat and not harm it. Anyone try this on their boat? Going to buy a quart and try it, the worst that can happen is the I throw another $20 inb the ocean (cheap) |

I have not tried that one. However every stripper I tried did not budge the bottom paint.
Let us know if it works.

I used a soybean based stripper that did a good job on removing bottom paint. It took a long time, messy and at the end I still had to wet sand to get all the paint off. In the end I did compound/wax and it came out OK. Just a ton of work.

A ton of work what would one expect ....It's a boat ....lots of work lots of money.... but it puts a smile on your face

I want to take care of the holes left from all the screws that I removed on the gunnel and transom.
Right now I am not so worried about looks not that I want it to look bad ( i plan to work on the paint job in 2010) so what would be the best/easiest way to take care of them? |
