Default transom

I would like to ask is there a reason why the stringers in 1971 20 ft sf taper down as they reach the transom.i have put two 3/4/ inch marine plywood in the transom and will be adding a bracket.Should i add knees to stringers and bring them higher on transom, are leave them as is?

Default more work done

Didnt get a response to knee question ,so went with my gut. got out the grinder Saturday morning and started going at inside of new transom skin to ruff it up. Same story ive read before .20 year old snap on grinder quit
working,so backup lowes grinder ,it quit .so off to tractor supply and got a new dewalt and that did the trick. Now have two layers of 1808 with 1708 sandwiched between.Put foam in place with a product called power grab for bathroom shower walls.3 layers of 1708 and 1808. after it sets real good (epoxy)i will grind all the ruff stuff down and add 2 layers of 8oz cloth with some white pigment to final coat .Next i will take out console and t top and start on floor and foam.BECAUSE OF HURRICANE HARVEY I WAS ABLE TO GET A 22 FOOT MAGIC TILT TRAILER FOR GOOD PRICE FROM SOMEONE WHO LOST THIER BOAT.

MY TANKS ARE IN MY CONSOLE. What did the guy do ,forget to plastic coat the chain!!.In the old days we used to run a vacumn cleaner hose from the tail pipe of a running car into the gas tank, then weld are cut out, the carbon monoxcide are whatever its called would replace the oxogen so it couldnt blow.
