Jim,
Very nice work. What type of lifting rams did you use for the console door? My Seabird's console has a similar setup, but with a vinyl-clad, somewhat waterlogged foam and plywood seat that probably weighs 2 times that of your glass door. I'd like to do something similar because #1 - I'm tired of lifting the friggen thing to get under the console, and B - I'm tired of getting slammed by the seat when it comes crashing down on me because I've knocked one of the dowels I use as prop rods out from under it while working inside the console.

go to http://www.mcmaster.com/ and click on the link for "gas spring". It is in the transmission setion. I bought the non-stainless 35" 50lb rams.
