Re: My Classic is officially a Classic Now
I took the completed antique vessel application down to my local Hillsborough County Tax Collector/Tag branch office......I'm not sure they will ever recover!! I showed the counter clerk and her supervisor the form and they looked at me like I had snakes growing out of my head. Not to be detered, I'm escalating to the main office!! I'm sure someone in our County government will know how to handle. More to come.......

Re: My Classic is officially a Classic Now
Hi DonV;
On the form or the info that goes with it they say to mail it to the Tallahassee state office for approval. I don’t think a county office has the authority. FellowShip ………………………………........... Just for the Grins “Official Classic SeaCraft Owner” |

Re: My Classic is officially a Classic Now
Question, My Seacraft has been eligilble for over 10 years now but the problem is, it has been registered as "Homebuilt" since it was salvaged by Dad and I since we first found it back in the early 70s. I never wanted to change it as to not "rock the boat" (pardon the pun). I have no VIN number since the plate is long gone.
Will I need a VIN (HIN?) to reregister it as a Seacraft and antique? Will the state of Florida have issues with me if I do? Should I still not "rock the boat" here? |

Re: My Classic is officially a Classic Now
Yeah...I had sent the form to Tallahassee for the stickers, whatever else they do, however it states on page 2, first paragraph to take it to the local tag agency. I was covering all bases, or so I thought, in any case the application is in both agencies. I'm sure it will be OK...... I'm sure......sorta sure.
"Upon completing this form in its entirety and submitting it to the local county tax collector's office or license plate agency, the county will issue a registration reflecting exempt antique status and this form will be returned to the applicant" |

Re: My Classic is officially a Classic Now
Hi DonV;
Yah the way I saw it was first send it to Tallahassee to get approved and then go to your local county and get the registration for the $4.90. Which I did on the internet and it showed the price had already been changed to the new low low price. I just got my new registration in the mail today. Fishing fanatic Since you boat is registered as a home built boat it is not a SeaCraft at least to the state it is a homebuilt boat. You would have to first get it registered back as a Seacraft and then move on the antique states. You would have to have a title for the boat with vin # and saying it is a SeaCraft.
