Re: Keys Results thread
I also want to thank Skip and Carla for the invite, we also had a great time. Thanks to Sandy for that great Sushi which was quite a treat and all the other Chef's. We made it back fine and only lost 1 bucket, the stuff in came out so nothing else was lost - can't believe I had 20/25 mph head winds going down and coming back
Don you might try this site, its so easy even I can do it http://teamsouthbound.com/pictureprocessor/default.asp I also need some instruction with the decal thing that Eric gave us, I can't wait to get it on.

Great looking dolphin. If I recall, it tasted very good fried as medallions with pepper seasoning!

Re: Keys Results thread
Finally DSL bliss.
Caught this little bugger on a sabiki while fishing with Denny. Anyone know what it is? Capt. Chuck and Admiral Lil kindly invited me to fish on the Gucci 23. Florida Sportsman used to do a series on "One Man`s Dreamboat" and their boat certainly qualifies. Get this, the cover for the freshwater shower is the sideplate from a Penn International. All of the wants and needs of any professional Capt. fall to hand. Logic and function are the driving force here. The tray over ice for natural bait storage. The electrical block under the transom for easy pump changeouts. Everything falls to hand. Well, almost as Chuck had a good laugh as I tried to reach the radial riggers as we set up to troll. I`m short and not supposed to jump, but that`s another story. It was an easy 2-4 with an ocassional 6 footer thrown in. I was interested to see how the 23 stacked up against some other boats I`d fished on. We had talked strategy the night before, and set up the spread. We had talked about running a shotgun WAAAYY back for Tuna, and it was killing me that we weren`t running one. Chuck had a nice snake King in the box shortly and lost a schoolie at the transom. I was looking at my favorite rod , an Avet lx7 6-1 on a Chaos 7ft. kf 15-50 and chimed in about the shotgun. I had 350 yds. of new pink Ande spooled up with 7 #`s of drag at the tip. We sent a 5 inch black and purple jet head about 200 yards back. 20 minuites later it went off and one word came to mind. Tuna! What follows is the reason that we love, and can`t live without our CC`s. The tuna started ripping line out and Chucked yelled at me to advance the drag. I yelled back get the lines in we`re going to have to chase this sucker down. I was carefully thumbing the spool as Chuck spun the boat. All hands on deck helped to bring in the tangled spread. I went around the boat a couple of times. This was no Bonita! The bandit was getting closer and took me under the bow twice. I stuffed all 7 feet of Chaos in the water and stumbled around following the fish back and forth. I was NOT going to lose this fish. Tit for tat and 15 minuites later Chuck stuck the gaff at the bow. High fives were exchanged all around. On the way back in Chuck gave me one of those watch this looks. He trimmed the stern up and pushed the single lever control forward. We jumped on top and I braced for the inevitable slam upon re-entry. What happened next blew my mind. The Boat landed softly and sneezed the snot out the chines amidship as we outran the spray. Huh? What? I have been on my brother`s Mako 23 in similar conditons and it landed hard and shuddered like a cold wet dog. Even worse on a Jupiter 31, although we were wide open with a tool at the helm. Geno`s 28 Mako also lands like a brick , but you don`t get the shudder of the Jupiter, or to a lesser degree my brothers Mako 23. Many thanks to Chuck and Lil for ruining me for life. I want a 23 BADLY. GFS Skip the smoked King was beautifully executed. Some of us have been talking about making a plug of the 21. After reading about the performance of the F&S, it really needs to be done. Carla mentioned something about some improvements Carl had in mind. Hint hint nudge nudge. Albury Bros is around the corner and would be a perfect fit for a builder. Quality all the way! |
