Alan, I just got the ladder to a fabricator this past Wednesday...
For the last month I have been up to my eyeballs in
business. Here in Daytona as most of you know we had the Rolex 24 hour race, then the Daytona 500, and now Bike Week. With Spring Break next.
I'm in the Cash Register Business and with all these special events it has been non stop.
Trust me no complaints for being busy!
As soon as I here something, it will get passed on.

Ching ching, Ken

Well, we gave it our best shot.

Here is the break down. I took the ladder to two
different Star Board fabricators.
Bascially the same thing. Price for set up and artwork
$400. Price to cut and fit the actual ladder $195.
Both said that the stainless hooks at the top would
be the problem. I did a search to try and find something
close, no luck..
So with that even if 6 of us decided to go for it, it would
work out to about $275 each. A little pricey for a
ladder IMO..
Alan, I will UPS yours back to you after everyone
responds. Right now it is safe and sound in the Barn.

See ya, Ken

Sh*t !

I appreciate the effort. I agree, let's let some others to chime in see if they have any ideas.

It's a bee'atch, 'cause the ladder is made perfect for the Tsunami/Sceptre cuddy; it's light, stowable. Someone, somewhere has the original mold. Maybe it could be re-discovered.

I have two of these ladder's, both broken; one made by Chrysler Marine ( believe it or not ) and the one that I sent you Ken, was made by Taylor Made ( think rubber, boat fenders ).

I would be willing to Pay $200 or so. Let's see how many other commitments we get.

I just got off the phone with a guy named Jim from Taylor. He remembered the product from "20 years ago" - and besides the fact that they don't make it anymore - he said that the tooling on it failed years ago - and they had the option to re-invest and rebuild it, or to let it go.

Which way did they go ? I think that's obvious...

So, back to square one.

Did you try sending a photo of it to Scott C. from Vector? He is the guy over on classicmako that makes all of the instrument panels and the reproduction Mako emblems.

If he can't do it, I am sure he knows someone who can.

Or, Maybe you guys can pay Hermco or Wildfire to make 3 piece fiberglass mold? Mold 1 and 2 would be for the sides and 3 would be for the 2 steps. Just thinking out loud...

I have one and do not like it. There is no place to store it. The hinge that mounts to the top deck is out of date. This same hinge mounts it to the side of the boat for boarding. It can be easily duplicated but it will become a cumbersome piece of equipment over time.

Geesh! Two hundred bucks, count me out.I can understand why it would cost that much, but I'd rather put that money into more fishing tackle.
I just bought one of the folding plastic stools at a camper store for ten bucks. It holds 300lbs,and folds flat.It fits nicely,up against the port side cuddy wall.

I disagree - I think it's perfect for it's purpose. But, I'd like to see you duplicate one... That's a challenge... BTW... Then, I'll buy it off you for $100 - 'cause you don't like it anway ...
