Default paint

Finally got it painted this weekend. I ended up not using much flattening agent, but I dont think it'll matter in the end. The color is made to match matterhorn white by awlgrip. Shot one coat, waited six hours and then shot another. Had some overspray issues with the first coat, but in the end, I'm very happy with the results. Kiwigrip came in today, so Ill get it taped off and painted asap.

New leaning post came in too. Still trying to figure out where I want it.

your resto looks awesome.......tons of views and little comments...you must be doing everything right!!!!
Questions
was the kiwi grip easy to work with??
How much did you use...also looks like you really put a thick layer of kiwi on....do you think you can you go barefoot on the boat or is it too rough??? Still debating kiwi but dont want my son's feet to get sore!

As a whole, kiwigrip seems ok. The hardest issue is roughing up the surfaces at the edges where its taped off. You definitely gain a lot of time doing it indoors or when its cool outside. The sun cooks it pretty quickly. Another issue I found is variances in grip/texture when working over large areas. When one portion starts to set and one area is fresh, the roller raises up the paint considerably more on the tacky part as opposed the fresh part. It wouldn't be any problem to quickly roll on another coat either if you weren't happy with the results. If I try, I can dig up some edges of the paint with my nail, so I dont think pressure washing is in the question, ever. I used 120grit and 80 grit paper to rough up the areas. I used almost an entire gallon to do what is shown in the pictures.

Default complete

Dropped the boat in this weekend for a shakedown run. Everything went at planned, could not get any WOT runs bc the river had a little chop, but was able to cruise @ 33mph burning 11gph. Not too bad for a 150 two stroke.

Ignore the lack of a windshield. I destroyed it maybe a day after I installed it a few weeks back not opening the shop door high enough. Stupid move, but a new one won't be a bad thing either. The cushions/engine cowl/hull need a good cleaning, but that will come soon enough.
Still plan on making a splashwell gate out of extruded PVC due to it being inexpensive compared to starboard.
Thanks to all who helped with advice/input!
