21 Hull #136...Restoration...Started

Well since the last post I have not accomplished as much as I would of liked. It seems like a little burn out set in so I backed off a some. After the holidays I will hit it hard.

Question to all you who have been there and done it. The main cockpit sole is all ready to be glassed in. Besides some fuel line hoses and ?? is there any reason not to glass it in.

Here is my thought process. The bottom of the sole has one layer of 1708 on it. The top sole has a primer coat of epoxy. I was thinking of tabbing the floor in and taping the seams, make it fair and then lay on or over some pre-made up 1708 panels. Sorta ala Strick on his 20 footer. Let me know what you think?

The TileClad really spruces things up in the bilge area. Noticed you fiberglassed on top of the TileClad ... it'll stick?

The tile clad was ruffed up pretty good, and since this was not a high stress area, I was not to concerned. I would go to bare glass for maximum holding power.

It has been one year since I started this project. I have been keeping a running log on all the materials I have used.

This post should be informative for folks wanting to do a complete tear down and materials needed to get to the point where I am at. I will not include any sundry items or costs.

Epoxy and resin- 21 gals.
1708 mat-33yds.
Sanding disks-100.
3 inch fg tape-2 rolls.
Quick Fair-3 gals.
Hi-temp marine bondo-1 gal.
Latex gloves-300.
3/4 marine ply-2
1/2 marine ply-3
1/2 divinicell-1
1/2 placore-2
Tile clad paint-2 gal.
Gel magic adhesive-6qts.
Silver tip fillet-3qts.
Solvent-5 gals.

A foot note here this is the material I have purchased so far. Some of it is still being used.

Hope this sheds a little light on what it takes to do a ground up.

It has been awhile since I had posted any pictures and progress.

Let me tell you it always takes longer than you think.

The first thing made in this post was the below deck ice chest. I made this from 1" urethane sheet foam. Both sides were laminated with 1708 and epoxy. The parts where than cut from measurements and assembled.

This is my first real OH S**t. When I did all the measuring the floor stringers where not attached. So when I went to install the box it would not fit under the stringer due to the fact I could not rotate it. Never fear, just cut one side off and then assemble inside the stringer system. What a royal PIA.

The next box to make was the live fish well box. I went below the floor to keep the original feel of the boat. Plus I am not a hard core fisherman, and only need to keep pin fish and shrimp alive.

This time I made sure the box could slide under completely made.

Thanks, the CC are 48v electric. The easiest way to get around on the island. The yellow one will do approx. 25 mph.

I can imagine, lifted and with bigger tires they sure can scoot. I guess they're IQ cars and programmed to the top speed, correct? Sorry for all the questions, I work for CCI and am a big fan of our cars.
