Re: I Need A Shrink !
grgrmouse-
were gonna find you a seacraft and sign you up on the other team for a while. Working for a living has slowed progress on the 25 seafari. I've finished 90% of the work in the bilge. fuel tank support looking back looking forward 1/2 inch ply glassed on both sides with 1708 screwed to the supports with 5200 and then glassed to the sides of the bilge. Still grinding out spider cracks on the hull. Now we are able to concentrate on the deck. The fuel tank hatch was trimmed and now sits flush with the deck. I need access to the forward bilge under the deck in the cabin. So I'm gonna build a hatch for that. This is the beginnings of a mold for the hatch receiver. After waxing it gets sprayed with pva. I'll let this sit till I can glass it up. strick

Re: I Need A Shrink !
Another weekend gone and more work accomplished on the 25 seafari.
Some photos of the deck hatch receiver and deck hatch that I'm building. Laid up and in the mold out of the mold. It will get sanded and painted. Mold for the lid. where it will sit Template for the hole I have to cut. The fresh water tank will go in here. More photos of installing the flange and making the lid. I had planned on painting the top cap this weekend...kinda a big deal. I was going to make a spray booth out of the car port as the boat is too big to spray in the shop. We have been sanding and fairing for a long time. Early Saturday morning was the last and final check...and there was bird crap all over the boat! I looked up and found that a humming bird had built her nest right in the middle of the carport over the boat. I never knew that they were so messy for such a clean looking bird. It appears that they are able to somehow spray their crap vertically and laterally from the appearance of the area around the nest. My only option was to tarp off the area under the birds and hope that their super pooper was not strong enough to spray beyond the tarp. At any rate I did end up getting the top cap painted. Saturday was a long day. I never did post any pictures of my 20sf after the upholstery was finished. Another addition to the boat last year was a bow mounted electric motor. It needed a good cleaning so I snapped some shots after I finished. Strick

Hey Stick,
"I never knew that they were so messy for such a clean looking bird. It appears that they are able to somehow spray their crap vertically and laterally from the appearance of the area around the nest." Those pesky hummingbirds had better thank their lucky stars they are shacking up at a Vet's" carport. Most anyone else on this site would have be having "hummingbird stew" for Sunday dinner!!!

Re: I Need A Shrink !
Well, I'm a confirmed environmentalist and am fascinated by hummingbirds, but I don't think I would have been able to handle that. There would not have been enough left to make stew out of.
The spray job looks fabulous! |

Re: I Need A Shrink !
Hummingbirds can poop it up. We have a feeder at our house and it regularly get 4-6 birds at a time and the deck under the feeder is quite poopy...but I love watching them so its worth the hassle.
The boat is looking great. The hatch mold is particularly sweet. |
