Looking good, I saw the console sitting outside the homestead today. What motor are you going with?

Yea I had it down at Bob's so he could use it for measurements. Its sitting in front of the garage waiting for the boat to show up! (and I am putting the radar on it) The 225 Oceanpro is going back on, until it blows up.... I dont trust it to say the least.

Next time stop in if I am around!

That bracket is huge Your waterline will probobly be where your old bottom paint is. That tub will float the 225 Johnson no problem. Do the scuppers come out above that old waterline? You doing a 5" extension on the OceanPro?

You really think the water line will be the same?? I go back and forth on that one. I want to run the motor a bit before dropping another $500 on the extension kit. I figure I can run it up for a while and see how it does (ruins a crank bearing or not) before making a decision.

The big unknown is the fact I moved 60gal of fuel 3ft forward(both tanks moved up). I know the bracket will float the motor no sweat, but how high will it be with the boat loaded? Nobody knows untill its loaded and floating!

I can say, without notching the bracket's flange they are as high as I could get em. This pic will give you an idea relitive to the orignal waterline. The oval scupper cutout is 1/2in below the flange in this picture, just enough for the 'trim' of the scupper door to fit.

My scupper doors.

Looks like it is coming along!
I like he idea of bolting the console in to the lip verses through the deck.
What is the lip material?
What is the configuration of the transom? I am trying to decied on my 23 configure I have the two outside area as well as two big doors in the center that is just open to the bildge.
What are you planning on for power?

The U shaped wood is just 2X4PT shaped to fit. The console has a slight angle to it. It should fit tight.

I built my transom with the overhang, instead of an inside 'wall' because I have big feet and like to tuck my toes under there. This way you can 'belly up' to the transom cap instead of having to turn sideways. There are plenty of guys who went with 2-3 doors across there, and a solid wall, just not what I wanted.

I will be using my 225 Oceanpro to start for power, I also have a line on a 250 Etec with short hours, but its not in the budget this year (until the older motor blows up)

The 25in motor will get run and see how it works, if it does stupid things (porpoise etc) then Ill put the extension on there.

It got wet when the last boat sank on the beach, and the lower 2 carbs got wet. They shot the crank with salt, and it locked up slightly. I rebuilt the carbs, ran it on overoiled fuel, fogged it, and its not locked up now (5 months of sitting later)

I dont trust the longevity. I dont have good luck with things like this. I am sure the bearings will wipe out of it after 2 min of run time. If not, then Ill run it the rest of the season and replace it later.

Double oil for the 1st 5 hrs to be safe. The crank/rods/bearings in that motor are beefy
