Dan The Man was pretty jazzed with his custom phenolic hammers. If he`s good, so am I. The
crack in the corner of the transom was an impact. There is also a piece of 7/16 piece steel in there. Looks like some sort of yard impact and snappage with god knows what. The cracks by the cutout may need more attention.

The inner transom with the Unsealed hatch cutouts is shot, but the rest bounced well. Where might I find old Lake X racers and employees? See I`m getting smarter and asking questions here.

Made a couple of plumb bobs at the shop yesterday and with the tongue jack all the way up , she taped out at
25`6" The onion indeed. Carla said the best racers wanted the shortest hulls for less weight and more top end.

I made a paper mache mount that was hollow. It was of Bullwinkle. I met Janet at Doc`s Halloween party. Wish I`d kept it. Ziggy and I are exchanging music. LP will be epic.

Sandy, that would be so absolutely awesome! and I would be sooo envious if that was "My Racing Machine" !!! However, after racing, it was sold to a gentleman who bought it for his multiple trips to the Bahamas. Then ... who knows. Just keep peeling your onion and see what color of hull you find buried under existing paint, fg, etc. Red? Yellow?

After a raceboat was "retired" many of them did become test boats for Mr. K. The driver's drove them 24/7 to test the durability of Merc engines.
The Knee at the transom? It may have been put on the smaller (25'-26') raceboats as they spent a lot of time jumping those 10-12' seas. Hull out of water with props biting = extra torque or stress on the transom. The knee provided extra support. The 28' and 29' didn't jump so much.

In a 1968 Nassau race, I did find another 25' SeaCraft, #505, named Joan E., drivers Powers and Thayer.

Long and busy day at work on Monday. Still not caught up. Saw some of the CD. Resto pics. The livewell is full of black water and the Starbord bilge as well. No limber hole in the keelson. Would you just drill another EOD drain or try somehow to put in a limber hole?
The angle is presenting a challenge to my mind.

I think twin 150 OP`s may be a good choice for power. They are lighter than the 130 Yammies. I am such a dinosaur.
