Thanks for the heads up. They are different than "spray rails!" Built with that downward deflection, I can definitely see how they can really do the job; actually deflecting the rising spray water back down to the water surface. My dad owned a Thunderbird tri-hull by Formula. They used one on the old show "Flipper" that we watched back when we were kids. With basically a pretty deep V hull with smaller/shallower returns directing water coming up the hull back down, the boat was a very dry ride. The down side was that it would slap like crazy in a chop of any significant size. I learned something new again today; a GOOD day! Just like so many past and so many more yet to come. - Thanks! |
