I'll get some new pics tomorrow of the new floor I raised it approx 3 in and have a recessed area in back to collect water. I think I'll cross the lines and run the scuppers out the transome. That should be enough to keep my feet dry.

Crossing the drains will help. I am going to do away with the boxes in the back so my floor will go to the transom. I may just put in some brass tubes with scupperballs. Trying to take some weight out the stern. Basically I will have the gunnels wrap around the top at the stern and come down with a lip like the rest of the top cap. Trying to keep it simple with this one. Im also going to lay another layer of glass on the sides and fair them out smooth.

Also if any one knows a simple way to make a fish box. I may just make my own to fit up front. Kinda like a coffin with the rounded fronts. Thanks

There is NO simple way of making boxes. It takes a lot of time and work...not that it is hard, you just have to plan it out and not rush it.

Check out Stricks posts for the way he made is boxes. Very good tutorial.

I forgot who else in the repairs and mods did a real good job. Just look over the more recent posts.

I agree with everything IslandTrader said. Though not simple, there is a simpler way to make boxes than strick's. If you don't care about fit and finish, you can buy foam sheet that won't dissolve in poly resin, build a box with bottom and four sides and laminate it inside and out with a couple layers of 1808 and glass mat. Shoot it with some paint after you sand it a little and you've got a box that doesn't look very pretty, but will serve the intended purpose. Of course you also have to make a lid. The lid can be made with a lip or a groove around the outside to keep it from sliding off the box. Commercial fishermen often use boxes made using this type of rough hewn layup method.

On the other hand, if you DO care about fit and finish, do what strick does. Build a one-off mold, lay up your box, insulate it with sheet foam glued in place, or canned foam squirted on, and then build a similar exterior for the box the same way. As IslandTrader said, it takes a lot of planning. But I think the results are worth the effort. I'm going with strick's method because I want the finished boat to look like it had a custom restoration done by a professional.

I think I may go with the simple, not very pretty design. All it is going to do is be in the boat when I go fishing. A buddy of mine has all the foam I need and I am sure I will have some extra resin and cloth.
What do you think I should tape the corners with on the inside? Thanks

Check out page 3 on my link...I made my boxes the way described above. The only exception was that I put a real good fit and finish on them.
