I have a 1989 23WA and the transom is cut out dual engines ,but I only run a single 225 Honda. By looking at the pictures, I too would says the transom has been cut down a few inches to accomidate the motor. My motor has the XXXL shaft (30"), that is because the way the deep V hull is designed.

$1000----Trailer
$500----T Top
$600---misc electronics etc
$2800---hull
$2000---motor
total= $6900 minus transom repair if need and you do it yourself approx $800
other work needed wiring/pumps etc. and other crap that comes up approx $400

Grand total to purchase= $5700
offer price $5000 with room to negotiate

i have an 86 and the switches were very questionable plan on rewiring the dash......at least
i was told the switches were more of an internal switch not designed to be water proof
not a bad looking boat what are they asking?

Don't worry about the transom being cut down. During that era, it came from the factory that way when the boat was set up for a single 25" outboard.

Assuming the boat is in descent condition, I would say 6K. Keep in mind you can easily put another 2K in it just getting it set up for yourself and getting everything checked out.

Good luck!

I dont think I'm going to get him down to 6k. He wants $12k obo/firm. I was going to throw 8 at him and see what happens. But to make a long story short....I deff dont want to shoot myself in the foot on this boat. Thanks for everyone's help. Its a shame because I really want it.

That's funny Capt.!!!! Quite true but funny, especially with the picture of 'ol Don Knotts, AKA Barney "Mr. Single Bullet" Fife, starring in his Oscar winning movie. Well maybe it wasn't exactly "Gone With the Wind" quality. :)

Actually I think the other way around :). I'm going to show him this site and this thread to show him that his boat is a little overpriced and if he wants $8k it's his. If not I'll move on to the next one. He seems to be a nice guy and I'm sure he will understand :)

Started at 15k and now over a year later down to 12k

Update: I offered $8k and he couldn't take it. Feel free if any of you know of any good deals around to let me know. Thanks again guys!
