I would like to power with a 150 4 stroke. I never had the boat in the water so can only guess at the water line from the old bottom paint line. I will use the boat in Long Island sound, these boats are great for the wash board conditions we frequently see. I run twin 150's on my 2360 I like to get to my fishing grounds asap weather permitting. It's my understanding this hull design was used when Sailfish boats came to be. My 2360 Sailfish hull looks very similar to my Sea Craft hull.

Based on that data Captain, I would concour with No Bones post #2 (if you're not putting a bait well behind the seat) Good luck - send pictures.

These boats were designed for motors of 300 lbs or less, so if you're gonna hang almost 500 lbs on the transom, you're gonna have to move a lot of weight forward to keep from screwing up the CG and hurting the ride & low speed planing capability! It would be easier to balance with a DI 2-stroke, which will also have more mid-range torque for getting on plane with a heavy load.

I was not sure about the weight. I don't want to start shifting weight or change the performance of the boat. I'll keep the 300 lbs in mind when looking for power. Thank's

Snookerd once told me that it was actually a 21 Sailfish that beat the 21 Alim in the CIA sea trials for the Bay of Pigs invasion boat in 1961. Carl bought one and copied the hull shape of the VDH hull and went on to win some boat races or something and the rest is history.
Anyway, I understand Snookerd is saving up his weekly allowance for a Sailfish because he wants "an original" to bolt that new 300 Zukie to! Then he'll have a great Sarasota dive boat and he'll be set for life. One needs goals in life.

I think I see a vacation in SE Asia in your future.
