Boy you lefties sure love the conspiracy theories and finger pointing. Just remember, back in '03 the dems voted unanimously against any "ANY" reform for fanny and freddy. Don't believe me, look it up.

I guess it was just a bad day when those silly
towel heads flew those planes into the twin towers !!! The proper liberal approach should have been to try to talk with those silly terrorist why they made a misjudgement in there navigating or find out if there school somehow let them down or maybe there parents were divorced or even they may have been abused by a family member or even worse they did not have a little red wagon as a child.... THIS COUNTRY WAS ATTACTED !!!!!!!!! The "rightie" response would have been BOOM !!! End of story. Have we had another attack since W has been at the helm ?? NO we haven't, have we !!!! Do you leftist liberals know without a doubt there were no weapons of mass distruction??? NO, no you don't !!! The truth will come out sooner or later !!!! Protecting our people and our country is the sole responsibilty of our president... As far as I'm concerned he has done a good job. My name is NoBones and I approve this message !! |

Re: Stock market/banking sector insanity
The 108TH Congress was lead and controlled by the fascists dba the Republic party. These Republics wanted to privatize Fanny and Freddy i.e. remove all regulations and “Duke Cunningham or Jack Abramoff” the safeguards. The Democrats did not go along with the Republics. Just look at deregulation and "McLame" and other Republics then think of Enron.
“there navigation” … “there school” … “there parents” does someone want to say their navigation, their school, or their parents. This country was and is being attacked but by fascists Republics. Have we had an attack since “W” has been at the helm? Dugh yeah, I believe the pretender was prez on 11 Sept 2001, score one attack on his watch in this country and thousands in other countries like Iraq. Someone might want to correct there, oh my error, their assertion “NO we haven't, have we !!!!” How many unarmed marines were killed in Lebanon on Reagan’s watch? BTW your towel heads were Saudis, did we attack Saudi Arabia? No W let them leave the USA via aircraft when Americans were not allowed to fly. WMD’s have nothing to do with 11 Sept. 2001. Much to much Republic kool-aid on this site tonight. |
Re: Stock market/banking sector insanity
Are you a Democrat, a Republican, or a Southerner?
Here is a little test that will help you decide. The answer can be found by posing the following question: You're walking down a deserted street with your wife and two small children. Suddenly, an Islamic Terrorist with a huge knife comes around the corner, locks eyes with you, screams obscenities, praises Allah, raises the knife, and charges at you. You are carrying a Kimber 1911 cal 45 ACP, and you are an expert shot. You have mere seconds before he reaches you and your family. What do you do? ................................ ...... ........ ............ THINK CAREFULLY AND THEN SCROLL DOWN: Democrat's Answer:! Well, that's not enough information to answer the question! Does the man look poor or oppressed? Have I ever done anything to him that would inspire him to attack? Could we run away? What does my wife think? What about the kids? Could I possibly swing the gun like a club and knock the knife out of his hand? What does the law say about this situation? Does the Glock have appropriate safety built into it? Why am I carrying a loaded gun anyway, and what kind of message does this send to society and to my children? Is it possible he'd be happy with just killing me? Does he definitely want to kill me, or would he be content just to just wound me? If I were to grab his knees and hold on, could my family get away while he was stabbing me? Should I call 9-1-1? Why is this street so deserted? We need to raise taxes, have paint and weed day and make thi! s happi er, healthier street that would discourage such behavior. This is all so confusing! I need to debate this wit h some friends for few days and try to come to a consensus. .................................................. .................................................. ....... Republican's Answer: BANG! .................................................. .................................................. .... Southerner's Answer: BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! Click..... (Sounds of reloading) BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! Click Daughter: "Nice grouping, Daddy! Were those the Winchester Silver Tips or Hollow Points?" Son: "Can I shoot the next one!" Wife: "You ain't taking that to the Taxidermist & hang it on MY wall!" hav nice day, sam |
Re: Stock market/banking sector insanity
I don’t need your test, little or otherwise, to decide. BTW your test is a red herring.
For the record, I’m an American of the constitutional United States of America type American, from the Great state of Alabama. I fear that there are not enough true Americans in America. How about you are you a true American or do you identify yourself as Democrat, Republican, or Southerner. During the spring of 68 I was prepared and in position to drop any soviet, eastern bloc, of other threat to the United States of America, therefore, I can say unequivocally today, tonight, or at any other time I can and will drop any threat to my family or country. However, I do see the greed that consumes “America” and believe in time, unless people change, the world will revisit 1789 once again. If I am around when this happens I will gladly help load the cart for transport. |

Re: Stock market/banking sector insanity
Retirement plans compared...
If you had purchased $1000.00 of Nortel stock one year ago, it would now be worth $49.00. With Enron, you would have $16.50 left of the original $1000. With WorldCom, you would have less than $5.00 left. If you had purchased $1000.00 of Delta Airlines stock you would have $49.00 left. If you had purchased United Airlines, you would have nothing left. But ... if you had purchased $1000.00 worth of beer one year ago, drank all the beer, then turned in the cans for recycling, you would have $214. Based on the above, the best current investment advice is to drink heavily and recycle. (Go green!) This is called the 401-Keg Plan. :D |

Well pek besides this political BS and correcting my
grammar.... :o, Welcome to CSC !! :) I see that you are close to me in Edgewater.... Do you own a Classic SeaCraft ? Tell us about yourself.. See ya, Ken |
Re: Stock market/banking sector insanity
Thank you for the welcome. I prefer to study seacraft boats and learn about boat repairs on this great site as to slinging incorrect political crap into the fan. Ken, I don’t know about “classic”, however, we do have a 73 Tsunami w/twin 74 Johnrude 135’s and have had it since we picked it up new @ Bob’s Boats and Motors just west of today’s Hwy 436 and Hwy 50 intersection. Back then they were Semoran Blvd and East Colonial Dr respectively. I think I remember Bob using Lake Barton for testing the boats. Trailered it to Titusville and put in @ 406 and then followed the spoil islands north to home. It was less than $45.00 for 98 gal of Amoco, 2 gal of BIA oil and snacks. Sorry about the grammar part, but back in the bronze age my english teachers had us (students) correct each other’s (students) work and then they (teachers) would correct us one and all. Bad habits are hard to amend.

Re: Stock market/banking sector insanity
If they really need bailed out, why did we see 2 days of large gains in the markets when the only accomplishment with the plan was bipartisan bickering? Remember the markets were going to crash last monday morning if nothing was done last weekend! Where do the markets stand today as compared to 2 weeks ago? I believe they're up.

Met a lady yesterday who with her husband invested 50K in WaMu stock. Had savings and checking there also. Their checking and savings are fine. Their 50K was lost overnight. Still doing her job with a smile. Amazing grace.
Beer is a good way to diversify. Many different styles and flavors. And around here you can always get your nickel back at the recycling center. And in these troubled times when we are forced to tighten our belts for the sake of a better tomorrow, choose firearms that shoot straight with smallish yet powerful loads as lead and copper are still commodities which must be efficiently utilized and not be taken for granted. Like the fellow in the Ghillie suit said, "one shot, one kill" -- be mindful of that as you unload your repeating arms... Sam, you too...:D |

Re: Stock market/banking sector insanity
Hey guys, I need a favor. Back in 04-06 when construction was booming, I bought 5 trucks and lots of equipment. Now that things have slowed down they arn't makeing me money anymore. I did make good business decisions and paid everything off early with all the money they did make when times were great. Only problem now is I don't have near as much cash as I would like. I figure if each of you on this site sends me a check for $2300, my bank account would look alot better and I would have the amount of cash I would have had if I made poor decisions and decided to carry lots of debt. Thanks, Richard...Oh by the way, when construction picks up, I might decide to give the money back to you.

Re: Stock market/banking sector insanity
Kinda long read...
This will NEVER happen - makes too much sense! This guy hit it on the head !!! I'm against the $85,000,000,000.00 bailout of AIG. Instead, I'm in favor of giving $85,000,000,000 to America in a We Deserve It Dividend. To make the math simple, let's assume there are 200,000,000 bonafide U.S. Citizens 18+. Our population is about 301,000,000 +/- counting every man, woman and child. So 200,000,000 might be a fair stab at adults 18 and up.. So divide 200 million adults 18+ into $85 billon that equals $425,000.00. My plan is to give $425,000 to every person 18+ as a We Deserve It Dividend. Of course, it would NOT be tax free. So let's assume a tax rate of 30%. Every individual 18+ has to pay $127,500.00 in taxes. That sends $25,500,000,000 right back to Uncle Sam. But it means that every adult 18+ has $297,500.00 in their pocket. A husband and wife has $595,000.00. What would you do with $297,500.00 to $595,000.00 in your family? Pay off your mortgage - housing crisis solved. Repay college loans - what a great boost to new grads Put away money for college – it'll be there Save in a bank - create money to loan to entrepreneurs. Buy a new car - create jobs Invest in the market - capital drives growth Pay for your parent's medical insurance / health care improves Enable Deadbeat Dads to come clean or else Remember this is for every adult U S Citizen 18+ including the folks who lost their jobs at Lehman Brothers and every other company that is cutting back. And of course, for those serving in our Armed Forces. If we're going to re-distribute wealth let's really do it...instead of trickling out a puny $1000.00 (vote buy) economic incentive that is being proposed by one of our candidates for President. If we're going to do an $85 billion bailout, let?s bail out every adult US Citizen 18+! As for AIG ? liquidate it. Sell off its parts. Let American General go back to being American General. Sell off the real estate. Let the private sector bargain hunters cut it up and clean it up. Here's my rationale. We deserve it and AIG doesn't. Sure it's a crazy idea that can 'never work.' But can you imagine the Coast-To-Coast Block Party! How do you spell Economic Boom? I trust my fellow adult Americans to know how to use the $85 Billion We Deserve It Dividend more than I do the geniuses at AIG or in Washington DC . And remember, The Birk plan only really costs $59.5 Billion because $25.5 Billion is returned instantly in taxes to Uncle Sam. |
Re: Stock market/banking sector insanity
It's ashamed he does math like the gubermant
85,000,000,000 / 200,000,000 = $425.00 |

Re: Stock market/banking sector insanity

The is going to be a long and bumpy ride...I wish everyone a safe passage. |
Re: Stock market/banking sector insanity
Hey, Since I started this thread let's try our best to stick to the subject of the markets. There are many other places on the net to talk about dem's and repub's. Keep it friendly.

I`m a Libertarian, so I have no representation to complain about. I sold my small MMA and bought Freddie Mac. 20 years from now I hope to retire.
My brother in law is an investment banker in London. When they short a stock they can leverage @ 100-1. He knows the 2 "humans" who starting shorting Lehman with massive hedge funds. They stoked the rumor mill and the bandwagon jumped on and now Lehman is gone. GFS |
