i used an old large belt driven compressor that runs on 240 power..it was in a shop that i was fortunate enough to use...
problem here is they don't make many compressors which plug into regular receptacles that will run a spray gun consistent like you want them to...you need a large capacity, large horsepower motor on it...
I have a small compressor from harbor freight that i can use for touch up and minor sanding, but can't run constantly for long without it running out of needed air...
rental is an option but power will still be an issue unless you can find a really good one that runs on 120V...

I have bought 15 gallon batches the basic no blush twice, both times including shipping to boston was less than $700 total.

I am sure the prices are higher now, but not by much. And I don't think it's really BS as most of what he writes is true, but I agree that navigating the site is a pain in the ass. Give him a call, he's actually a really great dude to talk to. I used his recipe for thinned epoxy and thus will never buy CPES again (at $100/gallon).

Shipping cost gets to be a significant factor when you order by mail. U.S. Composites has better prices and shipping to St. Augustine will be cheaper because they're located in West Palm. Their web site is less confusing too. :D But they take a day or two to get your order out. If I order on a Monday, it usually ships Wednesday and I get it Thursday.

I am using RAKA on current project and am almost out. It seems fine but it did not wet the 1708 as easily as I would like. WEST is very high priced now and System 3 crystallizes.

i checked out the links on this thread and was wondering
what USA epoxy means when they say their product is not a pour out like the discount guys?

"Our most popular marine epoxy. Compare to our competitor's NON BLUSHING epoxies (we're much cheaper!). This is a formulated product like the high price guys sell, not a simple 'pour out' of the raw chemicals that the discount sellers offer."

Signature finish. I hear a lot about this stuff lately and just bought a sample batch to try over faded 6 year old Easypoxy. It's made by the same guys (Fabula) who make Honey Teak (which I've got on my brightwork). The company owner, Tom, claims ten years life span, goes on over any prior paint, apply in any weather (I'm in the NE), use as bottom paint. Sounds too good to be true. Anyone have any prior experience with it?. Thanks

Go to the search function and use "signature paint", newer than let's say 10 weeks. All the info you need. I've used it on my transom and console rebuild and I like it.
