Beautiful work there, Dr. Gucci! :D Now if Finster would stop "cuddling" in the cabin of his Seavette with the green Gucci tarp and that ratty old Sears catalog, maybe the tarp could be passed back to you. :D On second thought, maybe you don't want the tarp.

Great look!
Is that a Schmitt wheel, and did it fit your steering shaft, or did you have to get an adapter fitting to fit a Teleflex mechanical system? If so, what and where, please.

Capt Chuck 03-11-2007 01:17 PM

Re: Flats Boat Console

Yes, 13 1/2" Schmitt Wheel (manf.# 416-13-2-1-FGK ) It fit the standard tapered steering shaft.

Chuck,

Nice work. Congratulations on the Two Boat Theory. I'll be interested to see which boat you use more over the next year.

Can anyone say Bling? Definately a Capt Chuck signature console.

What size engine is pushing this bad boy? how shallow can she go?

Well, as I recall you were stepping on your tongue on top of the platform "pushing" Ikan & Myself around that flat in the Marquesas! Oh Yeah, I forgot, it was one of those heavy hulls, a 16' Hells Bay bannana boat with 40HP :D

May he was going up hill? Jeez Chuck, give the guy a break... After all he was pushing you around. :D

Re: Flats Boat Console

I know Charles,I'm gettin old.I've got an older Shipoke hull now and it's really, really hard to push around. But since I almost killed someone comming back from the Marquesas in the Hells Bay(wind started honking out of the south right against a falling tide making the pass about 5 feet)I figured I'd better get alittle more boat under me.Anyway, poling is highly overated, just stake 'er out and wait on the passing shots!

Re: Flats Boat Console

Shipoke... I have one, my son has one and a friend has one.

Re: Flats Boat Console

I love my Shipoke! Best riding skiff I have ever owned, but a bear to pole.I bought it to tarpon fish,so I mostly stake out with it,or push her in 3 feet or so.It was owned by Cecil Keith who was one of the finest Islamorada guides there ever was,so I figure the boat has some serious karma.

I'm with ya'Capt Chuck! But you should drag her down here so we can ride around and look good in her!

Ha Chuck

Looks really nice. If I had the Time I think I would like to do a little skinny water boat myself. But I just got enough time for one.
