Just picked up my 76 23!!!

I still have to find an engine & electronics for it, but I am pretty excited to have it home in my driveway! The transom is enclosed, but in a somewhat unconventional manner. Instead of totally enclosing the it, there is a 3 inch wide piece of glass all the way across the front section. The bracket is shorter than avg since the engine can still tilt into the transom. Let me know what you think! I am thinking 250 hpdi or 4 stroke, open to suggestions though.

Good Lookin'!! I love that color. Unique transom though. More pics please, especially the transom area. Where are you located??

a 250 4s would be perfect. My friend has that combo on his 23 Sceptre ..... nice.

The boat is in Scituate Mass. I will climb in there this weekend (wrapped) and take some pics of the back of the cockpit. It really came out great. Unique design, the guy who did it had some concerns with the boat porpoising if the bracket extended too far. I don't think that is much of a concern, but regardless he was cautious. Here is one pic that gives a little better view of what was done.

Hi Bobr338

You will love the ride of the 23’ CC and a 250 Hp is a great choice. If I were in the market for a motor I would be looking at Yamaha and Suzuki in the 4 stroke or Evinrude in the 2 stroke.

It is actually Imron. The previous owner was pretty obsessed with Imron, he did the gunwales and ttop with it as well. Wags shoot me some pics of your boat!

Let me say it again....Damn that a nice 23 CC!!!!!!!!!!

Go w/ 250 4 stroke, that would be the "cherry on top!"

watch out for those yamaha 225/250 four strokes . . . keep that 2 stroke alive as long as you can.

Re: Just picked up my 76 23!!!

What is that? Appeared to be corroded all the way through.

Re: Just picked up my 76 23!!!

That's the underside of a Yamaha F225/F250 adapter plate. Just do a search Yamaha F225/F250 corrosion. There more complaints than you'll want to read. Some motors as late as 2007 are having major internal corrosion. Apparently even the motors after 2004 when they made a change to the metal casting are rotting out. Not what you'd expect for a 20K motor.
