Hey ESD,

Do we have a number of attendees yet? I'll send 'da Moose my info for his spread sheet. Just for grins I called the motel today to verify my reservations, all is good!

eggsuckindog 10-15-2013 04:58 PM

No clue frankly - you got about the only confirmation that I know of - when i called she thought she found 4

I didn't call back today earlier but the fact they used - Dixon - for the group name, I said nobody even knows me. Which is why I told them to use SeaCraft, of course they apparently haven't changed it either. I am trying get them to give me an email that people can email to and get reply confirmation. They apparently sent Susan one at her office email that never arrived, they are just wearing me out - idiots.

RUSTYNTABATHA 10-15-2013 05:58 PM

Well gentlemen another of lifes hurtles was just placed infront of my wife and i... she was handed her pinkslip today... She has another job offer but it would have been nice to last another month and a half.... SOOOO we may be baotless there after all... Moose and DonV have both been gracious enough to offer up rides... and the brother in law has his hydrasport on the davits behind the house we are staying in... I WILL figure out a way to ensure i am there and this actually helps out since my wife wont have to take off i wont have to wait on her to get off work to leave on thurs... so we may com down on wed... or even tues... !!!! Ill be off for 3 weeks starting tom so nothing to stop us from heading that way when we want ... and the room is FREE !!!!! SCORE !!!! So i may be there on the dock with the wife waiting on yall to show !!! lol
Rusty ....

I called today and they had my resv. So I think they are OK on the books but not so good on the email.

approx 12/15 miles although I don't know anyplace to buy frozen bait without going down to anclote by water. Maybe should go by car the night before, even walmart usually has it as pinfish are everywhere with squid thats 20 mins tops - I'll checkout some bait shops

bbh57 10-16-2013 05:59 PM

A couple bait shops within 2 miles of hotel. Publix across the street.

Yo Bill
Which one makes the best "Mullet Hoagie"

bbh57 10-17-2013 11:34 AM

Publix. its all about the bread.

Breakfast at Suzies?

kmoose 10-19-2013 02:52 PM

My dad keeps a pack of that berkly gulp in his tackle box. baitfish eat it like fresh bait and he has done well on the grouper tipping jigs with it. In all reality for cut bait, fresh grunt catches grouper as well as anything except spearguns.

eggsuckindog 10-20-2013 09:55 PM

The gulps in little pieces work great on pinfish, but nothing like dropping a real 5 incher on a ledge this time of year

I have also been out fished with squid on a couple occasions so its just not for bait - but because it is bait - I don't eat bait - just say'in

Islandtrader 10-21-2013 10:20 AM

Squid for Grouper has always been my first choice...

I take my dad grouper fishing 3 or 4 times a year and we have had great success with shimano lucanis and knife jigs. He laughed at them when I first bought a few but we haven't bought bait in over 2 years. Gag, reds, ARS, cobia and Ajs cannot pass them up when the bite is on. During the winter we even catch bull redfish when they migrate offshore.

eggsuckindog 10-21-2013 01:32 PM

Stopped in at Miss Vickys this weekend - food was excellent, boiled peanuts, cold beer then Susan and I split a 1/2 pound burger - fresh made daily. I couldn't finish even my half, fries were nice big ones and the beer was really cold.

You guys trying to hook up on thurs or Fri from the Anclote ramp or coming up from the south this would a great spot if you need lunch - or the southern tip of Anclote.

I will post GPS numbers for both in a little while, I will be out on Thurs also -

google earth has a very recent pic of the southern tip and the best spot is the curly tip of the bar. Its right outside the river and right alongside of ICW so would be good meeting spot - water temp in the Gulf 82' - in the shallow lagoon 87', I even got in at that temp

saw a big pile of grouper that came from 50-60' over the weekend

McGillicuddy 10-21-2013 01:52 PM

Nice fishies, Moose!

From the sandbar this evening. Had the place pretty much to ourselves. Pictures dont do justice to how nice it is out there. Water still very nice temp.

eggsuckindog 10-21-2013 08:19 PM

water was a bit dirty down by the river, much nicer looking up there. Looks like a big blow end of the week and weekend, hopefully that will be all done next week

Sounds good. Where is Miss Vicky's? Maybe Miss Vicky's is the meeting spot up until 2:00 or so on Friday, then the southern tip of Anclote after that?

Dave

Miss Vicky's is right next to the Anclote ramp in the Anclote River, so guys can just swing over after dropping the boat in. I will post up the GPS number, NOTE: on the far left dock which should be used they put up no mooring signs, nobody paid any attention though and nobody bothered me, meant to ask Vicky about it-

the south tip is right at the end of the channel coming out of the river, can't miss it LOL Its usually where I stop anyway

We should have cell phones to zero in on where everybody is anyway

Looks to me like the weather is going to fantastic - we do not have any other frontal boundaries anywhere south of the Dakotas at least thru Monday. The H was over S GA so if it stays there - light SE to E winds

DonV 10-22-2013 02:44 PM

No kidding Ken!!!! That's crazy, 67 degrees, holy cow that's only 17 degrees from my freezing temp for my Cracker ass!! :)

Ok. Found her. Google didn't like the spelling. Used "Vicki's" and it's right there.

Based on past experience, trying to organize this group is an exercise in cat wrangling, so I'll just say we'll be at Vicki's for lunch on Friday if we don't run into any delays, and we look forward to seeing anyone else that shows up.
Dave

fatchantz 10-22-2013 06:14 PM

BBH57 - I was out there yesterday also, don't know how we missed each other.
I will be coming to this get together too.

NoBones 10-22-2013 07:13 PM

We will be at the corner of NW South Chester & East West North Cheese St.:rolleyes:;)

See ya there!

glad to hear it, odd you missed him though but the more the Merrier - DonV is our resident party animal though just an FYI

ya, I just forget the marina its next to it - Habour Watch or Harbour View or something but nice place for ice, bait and gas

everybody be sure and get Moose's cell phone list - We will be staying Thurs night and will be out Thurs to get everybody settled - there should be some nice snook just outside the river along the spoils but I'll be around somewhere close

at this point the weather seems perfect for the guys staying on the boats

As I said I will host Friday afternoon evening if you guys are intersted. I thought I'd throw some burgers on the grill. Could also get the fryer out if some of the guys fishing Friday have some fresh fish. BYOB

You can see on the map I've marked the hotel and my house with yellow, also the sandbar is a straight shot out. Easy ride either day or night. The green line shows where we run across the front of the neighborhood. Good water for all but low tide. The red lines are marked channels with spoils to one side of the channel.(north side of north channel and south side of south channel) . About the only thing to watch for.

Let me know what you guys think.

Also can come by car.

Sounds like fun, Bill. What time? My wife and I are going to hit Vicki's for lunch and then look for a spot to catch some pin fish for the live well. After that, we're up for whatever the group wants to do.
Dave

gofastsandman 10-24-2013 09:24 PM

You seem to be in the center of the SeaCraft gathering universe there.
Sounds like fun to me. Let`s bring food for Friday!

cdavisdb 10-24-2013 09:24 PM

Sounds good to me. What can I bring?

Is it possible to skirt the edge of the subdivision and get back to the hotel without going out the channel and all the way outside?

gofastsandman 10-24-2013 10:04 PM

Good Q.

First things first. How many are we Mr. Moose?
Cook what you do best, or just twist it. Sharp knives, will travel.
I can help with this.

Same question? I guess looking at my charts might tell me. We are in.

I am adding the additional names submitted and will post a tally of how many I have info on this afternoon. Anyone else wanting there contact info on there needs to PM me there contact info for the most accurate count.

DonV 10-25-2013 10:25 AM

Bill that sounds like a great deal, however I'm hoping you have very understanding neighbors.....we are a rather motley crew!! I'll be back in FL Thursday evening just let me know what I can bring!!!!

kmoose 10-25-2013 11:51 AM

I have 15 folks signed up for the list and 2 people signed up for clams (DonV & Island Trader). I will bring a cooker for the clams if clam eaters bring what they would have on them. I can bring a saute pan if some would like them done with wine, butter and garlic.

If you want in on a bag of clams make sure to let me know. I'm making a run to Cedar Key next Thursday to pick them up fresh from the farm.
