Deck drains
 

For what it's worth. The Seavette came stock with deck drains that run through the transom. They are in the same place on the deck, but they put a 90 on it and ran it straight back. They sit way under water, so Scott and I put on a set of ball scuppers and it works like a charm.

You mean the ball scuppers? They are standard issue, most marina's or dealer should carry them.

My '78 came from the factory that way also (90*) out the transom (I posted this pic earlier on another post) That's strange that Finsters are that way also. When Mr. Potter was on my boat this year, I showed him mine, he told me that they didn't come from the factory out the transom.

That dosen't look like same config as mine. I'll have to stick a camera down there and see if I can get some picks.
Plus, there is no indication of anything filled or patched on the bottom of the hull.
I was looking a pic's of Scotts threw hull's and the fittings where the same.

The only thing I can think, was they did it that way on the Sevettes because of the additional weight.

I don't see a patch at the bottom either even thou the hull indentation on the outside is still there. I cut in the tee you see spiced into the drain. I added a gutter system in the floor deck hatch so any water would run off to the floor scuppers vs sealing the hatch. Hummmm, vaguely famliar...I'll have to look a little closer.
My olny experience with a 23cc's guts is in my other one with a twin i/o setup. That whole deal in the stern is very different.
It wasn't until Scott showed pictures of his. that I saw the simularities.

And...I'm still be willing to bet that, that setup in the vette is stock.

When Mike replaced my transom he ran them out the sides. they work great,and no worries about it damaging the transom by going thru it.I wish they would of done them this way in 1973, I probaly would of still had a transom. [img]/images/graemlins/crazy.gif[/img]
