As for the SeaCraft and Foam in the rebuild ??? How did you intend to use it ??

Up against an uncoated fuel tank, not good !

If it's dry? leave it alone, unless you want to seal the top of it.
If it's wet dig it out and replace it, but save the dry hunk's to put back in with some new added to glue it together.

I understand that the price of 2 part foam has really shot up.

Yes may just leave it be and put in some bulk heads.
I had a 23 tricked out seabird that capt karl and I rebuilt. I posted on the fs fourm and seabird forum under bitsandbytes. Or go to myfishingpictures.com and do a search.

CaptDavid, I personally would take the foam out and leave it out. It has no real benefit. The thought behind it was, if you hit something hard enough to breach the bottom of the hull it would keep you from sinking. That problem can be easily be remedied with a 2k or 4k gph ditch pump in addition to your maintenance pump. And if you hit something where a pump that size won't keep up your gonna sink regardless of the foam.
The foam is a loosing proposition as it will retain water from condensation alone, not to mention other source's.

I just pulled a ton of foam out of my 23 footer. It wasn't saturated but it did have water pooled under it. It will not be going back in, no real reason for it to be there.
