She still isn't 100% complete but I did run her yesterday.

So far top speed is 54 mph @ 5700 rpm
Best cruise 40 MPH @ 4200 RPM burning 16 gph
This was with two people and a full load of fuel and water.
I will get more numbers and post later.

It was blowing a solid 15-20 with 2-3 foot chops

I Still need to play with the props.

Ha there is nothing like your first trip after splashing the boat. I bet the smiles were from ear to ear.
I was looking at your picture where you placed your bunks on the trailer. You might want to read the post on trailers in the general section that could be a problem for you in the future.

Aluminum Slide On trailers made by Owens and Sons places the bunks over the frame so much of the weight is distributed over the frame not the cross members. I have the same trailer and assume yours is like mine with lots of bunk support under the keel as well.

If you look under the General section there is a thread about trailer bunk placement. The fundamental rule is to place the bunks under the Stringers of the boat like Capt Chuck’s picture shows his boat. There is one member here that had to have a lot of the bottom of his boat repaired because “he said” that his bunks were not placed under the stringers and caused a de lamination of the bottom glass.

Thanks for the heads up on the bunks. I have them in the same place as my old trailer which I had since 1990 and the previous owner had them in the same place on the trailer before.

Regarding the boat you mentioned with the delamination if its the same one I saw it was due to the forward bunks not in the correct area. That trailer had no keel support. The forward part of those bunks were higher than the rear and causing stress points.

Yes, I have been waiting since end of Feb for these engines.

The numbers I posted above were with 19" Rebels.

These are with 21 vipers.

I tried the 21" Rebels and couldn't get the rpms out of them
I will try the 19" Rebels again and see how they compare.
I would like to try some 19" Mirage Plus if anyone has a set?
