Back in the day
I just ran across some old pics of my Dad’s 1978 23ft SeaCraft and me. We had just got back from a fishing trip. It was September of 1980 and I was 9 years old (almost 10). This was when there was no limit on Red Snapper. It wasn't unusual to catch 500lbs of snapper in a day’s trip. There wasn't but just a very few people around here that had electronics back then, my dad being one of them. We would fish on the bottom with a double hook rig and as soon as we would hit the bottom, we were reeling back up with two large Snappers just about every time!
Yours truly trying to hold a large snapper. http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e3...a6/DadsSC3.jpg My uncle and I. http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e3...a6/DadsSC2.jpg http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e3...6/DadsSC-1.jpg My Dad. http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e3...a6/DadsSC4.jpg My dad eventually sold his SeaCraft but the memories of the old SeaCraft stayed with me, so when I got old enough I bought my own SeaCraft. :D |

Love those old pics! I got some of my Dad's old Ana Capri I need to scan. Great boat.
By the way, hows that Seavette coming? Looking forward to pics of the finished project. |
Re: Back in the day
Thanks guys,
Bryan, The Seavette is pretty close to being ready to be picked up. The last time that I talked to Mike he had the hull painted and was getting ready to spray the topside and deck. |
