Engines

I have a 1973 CC I/O. I currently have a 1994 Mercruiser 350 Magnum Engine with a Bravo-1 Outdrive. Does anybody have any thoughts on better set-ups? Is there a more powerful engine available in a similar size? Thanks.

Re: Engines

There are deals on the 383s to be had.....325HP. You can try www.go-fast.com.....as well as some of the other Merc authorized dealers on the net. I almost went that route but went closed cooling MPI.

Re: Engines

Like Bayouboy,i also found some good prices on the 383Mag 325hp setups online.Go-Fast seemed to have the best prices of all that i checked.

I ended up buying another boat just for the engine and drive.Saved a lot of money, and it has less than 200hrs.

Are you unhappy with the engine and drive that you currently have?,are you thinking of replacing it?

I would love the 383MAG and Bravo I or Bravo III package, but couldn't justify the extra expense after i found this used setup. If money was no object, and i was going to stay with a Gasoline I/O, i'd give a serious look at the 383.

If you're thinking of getting rid of your current engine and drive,i know someone looking for that same thing.
