best way to cut?

I'm replacing the 500 and 800 gph Rule bilge pumps in the Sceptre  with a 1500 and 2000, so I'm going from 5/8" to 1 1/8" hose and thru hulls. What's the best way to enlarge the holes for the (above water line) through hulls?

Nest your hole saw bits. Put the smaller dia. bit (orignal hole size) inside the new larger one. The smaller one will act as a guide for the new hole. Hope this makes sense.

That is an awesome idea. I would of been stupid and just tried to hold it steady with the larger holesaw only. :D Thanks for the tip!

I used a block of wood behind the existing hole to guide the pilot bit. It worked great.
