winterize or run every month?

Any opinions on winterizing or just running every month , i am so worried about the whole ethanol phase seperation problem, I am thinking of just running my boat often enough to keep it fresh. The way the winter is going here in va , i think the striped bass my be here all winter so i will just fish every few weeks ???

for what it's worth:

i winterize and store between 40 - 50 boats every season - i have NEVER had a problem with fuel in the spring...there's alot of misinformation and old wives tales concerning fuel.since ethanol was introduced into the fuel,i've had 3 problems that were the direct result of fuel - all 3 boats got fuel from the same source - a fuel dock...since that, not another problem !
phase seperation comes from water in the fuel - if you've experienced water in the fuel previous - you need to find that source - leaking deck plate ? incorrect vent positioning ? leak in the tank ? - find the source, cure the problem...

what i do: add stabil to treat the fuel and that's it...i endorse no fuel additives - startron, sea foam, whatever - none of my clients use it...

running the boat every so often will really do nothing - if you're implying you're gonna hook up the hose to the engine and fire it up,allow it to run for a while and shit it down.the engine never really "works",it's not under load,it's simply running...

if you're implying you're gonna use the boat, that's different - the engine's under load and working - that's good...

fogging an engine is reccomended,if the engine's going to sit for an extended period of time...

Thanks pelican, i would at the least go for a boat ride , hopefully go trolling for a few hours or so. that would entail a fifteen minute or more run to where the bite might be. This year i am in dry storage and it will be easy to launch and run. thanks for the input.

Hey, Godsreel. For what it's worth, I run mid-grade exclusively in my Zuki and it will sit for about 2-3 months each year over the winter. I keep it full, add some seafoam and have not had a problem yet. Same thing last year.

Twice a month minimum in Florida. Grouper seasons still open and trout opened Sunday..
