Spray Rails
 
For anyone that has installed spray rails, what kind have you used and how well do they work? Are they worth the effort? I'd love to stop the spray coming over the bow.

Mine are made of three pieces of teak, bent to match the hull and then screwed through the hull and sealed with 4200. Take a look at my build thread you can see some pictures there.

try a different prop cut mine by 90%, granted in 2 to 4 I will still get wet but I don't spray rails would help either. I went from a Merc Vengence to a Stilletto

very much worth the effort !

any center console is wet,we all know this,the spray rails,these WILL knock the water down - these will cut down on the water that's thrown up and blown into the boat.

these are rails i've set up other boats with:

these were installed on a 24 blackfin,a noted wet boat - these,according to the owner of the boat,have cut down the amount of spray by at least 80%...

these are made of fiberglass,and laminated to the hull,then glassed over,making them integral with the hull - unbreakable...

these are the same rails,installed on my own sea craft

props may help bow and hull lift,but the rails will improve the overall "dry factor" of the boat...

I was looking at them when I had my 17ft shamrock (wet ride) but no need for them so far on the Contender.

Thanks for the replies so far. I'm not doing a restoration so I'm trying to avoid having to do glass work. Maybe some sort of glued and screwed on type. I've seen some different shapes from different suppliers. I'm interested in peoples experiences in how well they work.
