20 Master Angler Gunnel Supports

I'm planning on putting new gunnel supports/rod holders in the MA I've been working on. My question is, should I cut the supports so they fit flush with the outer hull or should I leave a gap? If flush, should they be epoxied to the outer hull. Not sure if the hull flexes to much for the joint to hold. I have searched for pics and it seems that some MA do not have visible supports and some do.

I did as your thinking. It gave the gunnels alot of support.

Thanks, can you post a better pic? It looks like you boxed yours in. Do you have rod storage under the gunnells

No no don't cut I guess you should leave a gap it will better rather than cutting the support.

the outter hull I think would flex too much, I want to put some in but would leave a gap and attach top and bottom - I walk on mine as is
