Just found this little whaler for a good number, only trouble is previous owner got varnish all over the deck/etc. Anyone know what will take it off with damaging gelcoat?

I've used fiberglass paint striper with some success but you can't walk off and leave it for long. Left on too long and it will soften the gelcoat. It's not as agressive as regular striper but it can do damage if you don't watch it.

Ok thanks for the help! Ill check into that, thank you!

A magic eraser will help, but it is really a 1000- 2000 abrasive, so be careful.
Don't burn through the thin gel.

Try lacquer thinner. Small spot first it should work.
