Re: Coosa

Couple of thoughts/questions,

Does the Coosa board actually absorb epoxy like a wood core does?

How much weight does the plywood core in a transom actually add over a coosa cored transom?

Re: Seabird

I have a 23' sitting in the yard for future resto (unless I should be so lucky to find a 23' SC project hull for low bucks... unlikely).

SeaBirds were good boats during their time, built in...

Re: 1973 SEACRAFT TSUNAMI 23' CUDDY 225 MERC + TRAILER

I drove by this boat twice a day, on the way to and from work before it was moved. It is a very clean and nice looking Seacraft. I did not climb in side for a look, but from the outside, looked like...

Re: cabosil for a filler ?

"Glass" is a mixture of silicates (from sand) and a metallic oxide.

Cabosil is fumed Silica made by Cabot Industries. It is a very low density fluffy powder when mixed into epoxy, makes it...

Re: FYI : GREAT cleaner

TSP chemically is tri-Sodium Phosphate, a very alkaline (high pH) material that is especially good for removal of light oils, greases, etc. It will damage certain plastics like plexiglass (acrylic...

Re: Seacraft Title Question

Some states do not issue "titles" on boats, but just issue a registration card yearly.

I lived in MD and had my boats registered there... MD issues a title just like you would have on a car....

Re: New Classic Aquasport Website

Finister,

That one on the flat bed is pretty cool /images/graemlins/cool.gif What make is that?

Are you going to drop in a stroked big block rat and do it justice?

Re: Is this a Seacraft?

I have an older '23 Seabird sitting around for a restoration. I'm pretty sure the boat in your photos is an old 'Bird. They were built in Hialeah Florida, thought to be advanced for their time. They...

Re: Ceiling carpet for Tsunami

Cabela's sells various grades of marine carpet by the foot. It's the same stuff used in bass boats and on the decks of pontoon boats etc. Not sure if that's what you had in mind? They have several...

Re: It's about time!

Scott,

Congradulations... from a fellow project SeaBird owner! I have a '73 23 footer that was an I/O Cuddy model. I'm going to close the transom for a full floatation bracket and then interior...

Re: advice on suzuki outboard

Spraying oil into the cylinders is an old "mechanics trick" which helps the rings seal to improve the results on a compression check. For a true reading, don't do it. Also, allowing the engine to run...

Re: Value of 1975 center console

There's a big difference between "book value" and what one is willing to pay for it. Simple economics... supply and demand. These are desired boats. It's worth as much as someone is willing to pay...

Re: '76 20'cc in MD

I stand corrected on Mango... I can't see the bottom on the hull anyway- that's the true way to ID them. I've never noticed the 23' SeaCrafts having that much curvature in the hull sides at the...

Re: '76 20'cc in MD

I had to go back and look at more SeaCraft photos. They too seem to have a slight outward hull curvature at the transom. I've never picked up on that detail from the one's I've seen. I do not think...

Re: '76 20'cc in MD

"Mango" appears to be an old SeaBird hull or possibly a John Allmonds. If you notice the sides near the transom, there is a slight outward curvature to the hull. I've got an old '23 Bird that's going...
