Could you run a loop of marine hose two or three feet long so that it has enough room to make all the bends? I would use two new clamps on each end if you have enough room.

Ordered some 5/8 end grain balsa, checked the hull truth his was 3/8. Looks like the balsa will be easier than cutting plywood squares.

Previous owner used about 40 three inch deck screws (for use on wooden decks not boats) to hold the rub rail on. Every rusty screw head broke off leaving a fun little project to remove broken off...
