Default Fishbox hose help

I'm trying to replace the hose from the front fishbox drain to a thru hull below the water line on my '70 20sf and I'm having a tough time. I've been to several marine stores and bought a few different 1" i.d. hoses that all seem to kink when fitted onto the thruhull. I ended up getting a preformed 90 degree radiator hose from the auto parts store and it works perfect, but now I'm worried that it's not marine grade hose and is below the waterline. I've attached a pic of the marine grade hose to show how it kinks and how close the two fittings are to each other. Anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks Tom

If it was me.....assuming the radiator hose is reinforced, which most are, I'd not worry about it too much, actually at all. That being said is there another location you can move the drain to and install a shut off valve? Not a big fan of below waterline drains w/o a sea cock.

I don't like that setup at all. As Don says, no seacock
coupled with auto hose that is reinforced with steel. IT WILL RUST & then your screwed when it splits out at sea.
Do yourself a favor by sealing up the existing thru hull drain. Run a new bait well drain with the double wall white marine grade hose out the side of the hull.

Could you run a loop of marine hose two or three feet long so that it has enough room to make all the bends? I would use two new clamps on each end if you have enough room.

another solution for a hose...go to the SPA store and look at hot tub hoses. They are flexible and reinforced.

Ditto on below the water line with out a shut off.
