I suspect your plan would work if you had check...

I suspect your plan would work if you had check valves between both pumps and the Y to prevent the discharge from one pump from flowing back through the other.

I just checked a piece of oil hose left over after I completed my installation. It's labeled "1/4 SAE J30R7 OIL LINE".
I would think you could get a piece as long as you wanted from your marine...
