sterring on a transom mounted motor?

Do i have to install hydraulic sterring on a transom mounted outboard. I want to use a 150 h.p. outboard, but I'm not sure of what make yet. I do know that it will be 4-stroke. I know with a bracket...

I'll probably stay pretty NUMB during the whole disecting stage. You wouldn't beleive it, but since i opened up the boat, the ants are making short work of all the termites. couldn't hardly find any...

I opened the floor up on my 72 GW and I have termites, bad! I can already see replacing all the stringers out to 8' from the transom! I am removing the inboard so i can pprobably beef up everything...
