Default Re: Stringer problems!

Finally got this heavy SOB off the trailer, and out of the weather. Started on the transom first, evicted all them bugs the hard way. Idid find some spots that had water under the glass, and boy was this stuff foul, I had a 3M particule mask on and could still smell this stuff. Still have 1 small area at this base of the right hand corner to grind out, then i can start cleaning the area were the stringers used to be.

Dearl - Be very careful!! That boat is not supported at all without stringers, floor, deck cap or a transom. The shell cannot support itself and will fall out of shape. It might already be 3ft wider and 2ft shorter than it was yesterday. I'd put that deck cap back on ASAP if possible. Defintely before you put in stringers. The hull might have already bowed or developed a hook.

Can you tell I made that same mistake before???
