I haven't decided how high to raise my deck yet, was shooting for 1" because I did not want to loose freeboard but your observations make sense.

Compression test on ETec

Anyone ever perform a compression test on an ETec?

Is the procedure the same as any 2 stroke?

Normal numbers between 100-120 psi good also?

Any info appreciated. Going to look at a used one...

I had a 175 Johnson on it with the 20" transom. I think I would be fine with the transom raised and all the wet foam removed....

I am rebuilding mine right now, already have a 25" transom in, no bracket.

Re doing deck right now.

Is this motor to heavy to self bail if the deck...

Just FYI on the shark white. I had it on my old boat and it turns green above the water line very quickly. May be a good reason to run the boot top...

My 1973 20sf was wet too and it has been out of...

My 1973 20sf was wet too and it has been out of the water for 10 years.

We also found the forward fish box through hull drain was letting water into the starboard stringer.
