painting engine ???

I need to paint my 175 evinrude engine and was told to use awlcraft 2000. I went on a distributors website today and it states " above waterline only".

it warms up first, then quits. I had it running with the muffs on for about 20 minutes, no problem. Then i drop it in the water and it runs for about 5 minutes, then quits. Then it is hard to start....

replacing transom hull plug?

Any advice on how to replace plastic type rubber plug thru-hull to a brass screw in type on lower transom. I'm not too comfortable with the rubber plug set-up.

I have a 1996 175hp v6 evinrude ocean-pro. I was also thinking about the relay or solenoid. I doubt its the brushes because I just replaced the motor.

splashwell mod on 20' SF

Has anyone ever modified the splashwell on a 20' Super Fisherman. My splashwell sticks in about 2' and is really in the way. Any ideas would be appreciated.

trim/tilt rod

I cant seem to knock the ss rod bottom rod out from the bottom of the trim/tilt unit. I have a 1996 175hp evinrude and the top rod knocked out easy. Any advice on how to get the rod out?

. I went to trim my engine up today and the trim motor dosn't even hum. About 3 weeks ago it was humming but wasn't going up. Finally I pulled up on the skeg as my wife was trimming and it engaged....

trim broken
