if you have a lot of sediment, and fuel is dirty brown, inlet most likely clogs when pump is sucking, then will move clear for a while when shut off, it needs to be removed, checked and cleaned, may...

that's a big weight savings, was leaning towards a poly, my Jeep has one since 93 with no problems, no corrosion to deal with, thanks for the help

Was that the original tank ?? mine was replaced with what looks like painted stainless with steel fittings welded on poor looking welds, getting pin holes around them, that tapered design sounds...

any ideas on replacement fuel tank for a 20' Seafari, the one in there now is stainless and appeares to be a flat bottom 47"L X 22"W X 7 3/4 H are the plastic tanks good ??

Or anything similar to replace it ?? it is a soft plastic or vinyl, with barbs that push between window & Metal frame, the exposed lip is angled against window and seals it, don't know if I'm doing...

They make a wheel made of nylon bristles with an abrasive imbedded in them, instead of steel that might work better and not leave that gray residue, I believe Lowe’s and Home Depot carry them.
