Default Nitrogen Filled Trailer Tires

I have seen several advertisements and heard comments from a few users that filling your car tires with Nitrogen has several benefits:

Fuel Savings
Increased Safety
Longer Tire Life
Superior Handling
Decreased Wheel Corrosion
Maintains Proper Inflation 3-4 times longer

""" I would like to hear comments regarding this issue and thoughts from you guys who do a lot of trailering about filling your BOAT Trailer Tires with Nitrogen """

I know nitrogen filling is common with race cars - a few guys i run audi club events with do it. say it is more stable at temperature - less pressure gain after pushing for a lap or two. The little bit that I know about why it is done leads me to believe most of those calims are horsesh!t. just my 2 cents.

Capt. Chuck,

My new Dodge truck came with Purigen(?) in the tires. I think it is some type of nitrogen base. Suppose to deliver all of the same benefits. Only time will tell.

Someone I know who has an AC company used Freon #22
in his Motorhome and trailer tires. He has been doing this
for at least 25 years. His tires run cooler and longer.
Smokey Yunick did an article on this same thing in Popular
Science way back when. It makes sense to me. I have never
tried it, but some day I might.

From what I've heard it helps keep the tire temperatures down when running at high speeds for a long time. I guess it would be a good idea for those of you who trailer long distances on the highway.

Why would a guy with a lift 30 feet from his back door(behind the enclosed pool)need to worry about the air in his trailer tires??
Chuck,
have you finally reached the end of the honey do list????
For gods sake man go sharpen some fishhooks.

I'm Old, Fat and Cheap. I had a $5.00 off coupon if I filled all five tires on the trailer.
That's a buck a tire I could save
