Still the most under rated and un appreciated of all Seacrafts. Some people are even talking about hacking them to bits

Hey, I for one think a person can do anything he wants to do with his boat...

Great shot. I saw a similar aged 20 MA with old twin 70 Johnsons on it at Sesuit Harbor in Dennis, MA. Never saw twins on a 20!

I agree, It would be hard to cut up a classic and change it to something its not. Make it yours, add stuff to make it custom to fit your use and taste. If you want it to be something else you would be better off starting out with that type of boat to start with. Also there are to many cc out there already to convert a non-cc over to one. I cant wait to try my 20' sceptre out, almost got the transom back in. The bracket I got is for twins as well, now if I can just find a counter rotating 70 hp I will be set. I would be cool never the less but really trying to find an mid 2000s opti. I had a 80 model johnny 70 and it was the best motor I ever had. Best fuel mileage too. Thinking about yellow for mine like the one in the pic but might try bringing back the original gel first.

With that being said, let me point out that two members of the forum have taken a 21 (now these are rare) and changed them into something that was never made. etc. one is a center console and the other one is being made into a Seafari. No screaming and gnashing of teeth. Heavens forbid the next thing someone will want to do is take a race boat and turn it into a fishing machine... ![]() ![]()

I must admit I've done my share of hacking in my day. And while keeping the original lines of the boat most of us will change up things on the interior to our liking. But I have become more of a purist as time goes on. I'm heading to the cathedral now to get some holy water....
