I agree, It would be hard to cut up a classic and change it to something its not. Make it yours, add stuff to make it custom to fit your use and taste. If you want it to be something else you would be better off starting out with that type of boat to start with. Also there are to many cc out there already to convert a non-cc over to one..

I always like to be the devils advocate. Sometimes I think the way someone presents something sets the forum off.

With that being said, let me point out that two members of the forum have taken a 21 (now these are rare) and changed them into something that was never made. etc. one is a center console and the other one is being made into a Seafari. No screaming and gnashing of teeth.

Heavens forbid the next thing someone will want to do is take a race boat and turn it into a fishing machine...

Good point IT, change can be good if It is done in good taste just ask Obama (well not his change, good taste remember). When I first got on here (csc) I thought every sc would make a good cc conversion but over time I started to appreciate the classics and the looks of some of the older models grew on me and now I would have a hard time doing this to any older classic. I also think someone should be able to do what ever he wants to his boat with out a verbal beating but I guess everyones taste is different and even mine changes from day to day sometimes it seems. Your right about the presentation part, that seems to be the one thing to get the ants moving. People could be a little more willing to try and understand anothers vision or ideas. It just seems the more I get rooted in with these classics the more I want to preserve history, I have even been thinking about going backwards with the 27 rb and putting a full cap back on it. If it was this way when I got it it would probably stay that way but now that it is a cc fishing boat I do like it that way a lot. I will use it a lot more in that form and also enjoy it much more. So guess what Im saying there is a fine line there to walk at least in my mind, but people should do what makes them happy and enjoy life and thier SeaCrafts to the fullest even if that means a little "change".
