Default Trailer Rehab

I had some extra time over the winter so I decided to do a little trailer work. It did the job but it had been painted with a brush a couple times and was hard to keep clean.

Before.

I never noticed it at the time but the front roller bar was mounted upside down on one side. If you look close by the frame you can see it just in front of the wheels.

Which caused this.....

Anyway, I got it apart.

ground off most of the old paint and did some body work.

painted

which was the easy part as it turns out.... Its all the other crap that has to be redone that takes the time.

Getting it back together

Had to get some new fenders because paint just wont stay on em...

All new LED lighting including reverse and under fender lights to check/change tires at 3 a.m.

There was a walkway on it already so I decided to pimp that out too.

The white on the boards has kinda faded away as I put the seal coat on the sand tonight, but it still looks good. I did like the bright white though.....

Time to load it. Dont mind the house siding, it is a work in progress.

2 inch ball and a 2 5/16 reciever.... pulled off while I was pulling the wifes car back with the winch. Tense moment there. At least the yard matches the house....

getting there.

Its out!!!

Yes, the "boathouse is nicer than the people house....

Just need to attach the walkway and do some final touch ups and I'm ready to go..

Thumbs up Looking Good!!

Wow looking good!

I like the wheel well lights. Are they on a switch or steady burning?

Also like the idea of having reverse lights..

Now I have another project to add to my list... pimp my trailer.

Safety note... get help putting springs back on... let's just say the last time I replaced my springs almost lost a finger... rushing the job and working alone. Thank God I could reach my big screwdriver with my free hand. :-)

"Dont mind the house siding, it is a work in progress".

Hey Floorboy, nice job!! Good to see the SeaCraft comes first over the siding!! Oh yeah, don't forget to re-pressurize your tires, pretty cool you had to let air out to get it out of the garage!

Hey Capt. Chuck! I like the Gucci seal of approval, just enough to make you wonder.

I have a terrible time working on everybody else's house everyday then coming home and working on mine..... It's getting there, i have a couple of the new windows and I bought all the siding when I built the garage a year and a half ago. Wife is pretty patient but she is even getting annoyed with it and I guess I am too.

The garage was being built when I bought the boat, I had to do some reconfiguring to the roof to get the boat in here.

Had to slide the trusses out past the door in order get rid of the header to get a 10'6" door in.

I got it within a half an inch of clearing the door so I have to drop the tire pressure to get her in and out. Ehhhh, at least it's in.

Sounds like my best friend who is also a builder. A year and half ago he raised his house (for flood reasons) and added some additional living space in the new basement. To this day he is not done, which he claims is the "90% rule".

Rod,now that you got the boat and trailer all decked out you have extra time to either finish the house or go fishing.Hmmm, which one will you choose?
My problem was going fishing every single weekend while the house slowly slid into disrepair. My ex wife never understood why a guy who owned a hardware store and spent his life in the hardware and plumbing business couldn't fix the dripping faucets and drafty windows in the house.
Helloooo,,,Didn't she understand the salmon were bitting?, Geesh!

They will be switched as my buddy (a cop) was not sure of what other cops would say about them. He told me to say that they are for safety, which I guess they kinda are.

I got booted off photobucket (poor excuse for a website) So i will post the rest of the pics now maybe.....

As long as I had to fix the bottom from the rollers I figured I would try to fix a major scratch she had in the bow when I bought it.

It looks pretty damn good, if you didnt know it was there you would never see it kinda deal.

Bottom repair.

Its good enough for now, next winter I am gonna clean it all up and repaint it because I now have 9 spots I have repaired on it. need to mount a couple more things (strainer, thru hull ducer) then I can finish it.

Enough for now, hopefully I can get it out with the walkway on it and clean it all up this weekend and get a "final" pic.

Hope it lives up to Seacraft standards.

The trailer looks really nice. Regarding the fender lights, I'm guessing it's considered a hazard to other drivers if they're constantly on, so probably a good idea that you have them switched.

Dare I say this trailer will get Capt Chuck's "Gucci" stamp of approval?

Oh Yeah, Stud Work for Sure, but to receive the "Gucci Stamp" there needs to be some Green, Red & Gold on those running boards or show me a picture of yourself onboard wearing the high end boat sneakers & you'll win the award!
