Chuck, thats a very, very nice install on the rod holders. Where did you get the "screwless" fittings? another Q?, where did you get the black trim molding for the bottom of the cap lip? thanks, nice pics.

You can also "glue" (with fiberglass resin) wooden backing plates to the hull sides and screw the holders to it. I saw it done on a couple of boat repair TV shows. Just sand the area real well, apply resin to the encapsulated wood and fix in position. Then attach the holders to it making sure to seal the screw holes with marine sealer.

All my hardware was "Screwless" The rod hangers were from TACO (spring loaded) and the Hinges, Gunnel cap Rod Holders, Hawse Pipes and Cleats from "Gemlux".

The trim was black until I painted it Green Barbour Plastics

Alan

The holders (on top of the Gunnels are Gemlux) The Rod Hangers under the gunnels are "Taco".

I think the quality is a little better (I know the cost is)

With Gemlux you have more options. Besides the "screwless" type they carry the "conventional" style. All come in choice of round or oval caps, polished S/S tubes with drain connectors. Choose 0*, 15* or 30* angles.
