It sound like you got a rubber rub rail since it was in a box not 20’ strips. I have accidentally got a little paint on some of my rubber rub rail when I was doing some tough up work and after it dried it would not just peal off. That being said I would never paint a white one black rub rails RUB and my bet sooner or later you are going to RUB against something that will remove that black paint. If I were you I would learn to Love White or try to sell it on E-Bay.

Thanks for your reply.The rub rail is not rubber and I also got the 3/4 stainless insert for it.I got the part number from chuck last year when I made the order.My thoughts were the same as your post.I will have to figure out soon for the boat is going to be in big pine most of june and I need to get it painted and back togeather.At this point I think it will go on and then you will no who I am when you see the boat.thanks fellowship

Ha Leverette;

What is the Barbour stock numbers on what you got? One of my next projects is going to replace my rub rail. Maybe if you cant learn to Love white I could.

I would not paint it either. I would think that if you called Barbour and pleaded your case they would change it out for you with maybe a small restock charge. If not, go the eBay route as Fellowship recommended.

Hey Leverette,

If you do decide to sell, I might be interested. Let me know.

I just got a taco rub rail- and its white. I found 3 - 20 foot lengths for 31 bucks each. More for the stainless insert. I like white!
