where r you going that you need 150 gallons? Thats almost 400 mile range at cruise. Just wondering i was almost thinking about going smaller when i get a new tank and a 300 hopefully.

Was unaware the Zuke was that much lighter.

Hummm.....from their web sites, looks like the 300 Yami is 561 pounds and the 300 Zuke is 615 pounds. Pretty even.

I agree, 150 gallons at a conservative 3 MPG is a lot of range. I've got a 144 gal tank because the PO did mostly grouper fishing on the west coast of Florida with an old OMC carbed engine, he needed LOTS of fuel to feed that pig. If I bought a new technology engine I would like to drop back to 100 - 120 gal.

I am in Houston so will be fishing offshore in the gulf and may decide to make a trip to the Bahamas. There is alot of empty space infront of the current tank so when I get a larger tank it will get mounted as far forward as possible to offset the added weight of the motor.

good idea moving tank as far forward as possible , but with all the ethanol problems i would not want to hold 150 gallons of fuel , if you keep it half full it will move around a lot on you. just my 2 cents . How far do you have to run offshore out of there?

I keep the tank full and treated for ethanol and storage. I typically would have to run 100+ miles offshore to fish when the conditions permit. So I need to have the capacity plus reserve to make a round trip. I would be over fueled than worry about not having enough. I have installed a fuel management system that works with my Garmin electronics so I can keep track of the fuel conditions on the boat. I usually run with a friend that has as Cat with twin Yamas, his range is about 500 miles.

Yes, it is a 23' Seacraft that was taken to R&R Boatworks a.k.a Conch Boats. They don't make a 25' boat, so my friend took them the 23' Seacraft and had them to make it resemble their 27'. With the addition of a bracket, he calls it a 25'. The gunnels where cut and a whole new cap was built one off for this boat.
