Default Jack plates?

Hey guys I got a question for all of you.. I have the chance to get a really sweet deal on a 2000 150 Johnson. Here's my problem.. I redid my transom on my 19 about two years ago and when I did I left it at 20" for my motor, plus i've never had a problem with water and it has the factory splash well and I wanted to leave it orginal. Has any one ever put a 25" motor on a Jack plate and used it on a 20" transom?. The transom is perfect and I built it out more then normal so the strenght is there.. What do you think?
