20SF with a 150 ETEC numbers
I just re-powered my 20SF with a 150 ETEC. Several of you PM’ed me asking about the performance numbers. I had it out yesterday and took some notes. I used the numbers from my BRP tach, my Flo-scan fuel flow meter, and my GPS.
RPM/gph/mph 1500/1.5/7 3500/ 7/27 3800 / 8/ 34 4100 /9/ 36 5000 /15/ 44 5400(WOT) /16.5/ 47 These numbers at WOT are better than the Yami 175 carb I had on it at cruise. I am tickled pink. It was just me with a normal fishing load and a full fuel tank. The ETEC pushed double oil for the first five hours of operation, so the double oil is there. Numbers may change after that break-in period. The ETEC has a 19 inch Viper prop that the dealer propped out for me when he installed the engine. I also have the engine mounted on a Porta-bracket. There are significant variances in numbers based on the position of the bracket (up or down). These numbers were taken at what I consider a normal running setting for the bracket – sort of mid-range. I have very mixed feelings about the bracket. It was on the boat when I bough it and I had visions of removing it a redoing the transom – still do. However – I can’t be without the boat for that long – I suffer from a lack of fishing syndrome that doctors say is only cured by being in a boat and fishing. |
