Hi GameOn, welcome to CSC.

Very nice 25. I've never seen one with a two tone hull. Is that paint or original gel coat?

You might want to rethink the 25 vs 23 decision. The 25 looks huge on a trailer because it is so deep (tall). I've had the chance to see a 21, 23 and 25 lined up and in the water. There is surprisingly little difference in the size of the boats. I think the 23 actually has a bit more internal volume than the 25. The 25's hull isn't more than 200 lbs heavier. If you use the cabin for anything other than storage, the 25 is way ahead.

Given your use, steep chop in the Columbia an big swells plus wind chop offshore, the 25 has a much better ride and might be a better boat. Not to knock the 23; as you know, it rides great. But the 25, because it is so sharp, is in another class.

Of course, ride may not be the most important thing, the Septre's bowling ally cockpit is unbeatable for fishing or tank diving. And, you pay for the 25s ride with higher fuel costs, a lot higher if you load it heavy. The 25 is also more tippy than the 23, although not near so bad as many deep Vs. The 25 is also a "drivers boat". You have to pay attention to get the best out of the hull. Balance is more important than in a lot of boats. The dividends of attention are huge.

All in all, for me, the ability to run straight into and through 3-4 foot Gulf Stream wind chop, reasonably comfortably on a long run, at 20 knots, sitting down, is priceless.
